
There’s nothing like a no-bake recipe, they might even just be some of my favourite recipes. It makes me thinks back to my childhood when I started “baking”. These cookies are so easy to make, you don’t even have to turn on the oven and they are great of any impatient baker that needs their sweet treat NOW.
Give your oven a break and get out your pan and spatula because even though no baking is involved, a little bit of cooking is needed to make a batch of these indulgent treats.
Did I mention that the ingredients are made up out of staple ingredients that you always have in your pantry?
No Bake Chocolate and Peanut Butter Cookies
Ingredients
- 250 ml Sugar
- 60 ml Milk
- 60 ml Cacao
- 60 ml Butter
- 60 ml Smooth Peanut Butter
- 5 ml Vanilla essence
- 625 ml Oats
Instructions
- Line to baking sheets with parchment paper before you start making to cookies or grease your pans thoroughly.
- Place the sugar, butter, milk, cacao powder and peanut butter in a sauce pan over a low heat until the sugar has dissolved.
- Allow the mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes while stirring the mixture constantly.
- Remove the mixture from the heat and add the vanilla essence and oats to the pot and combine.
- Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the baking sheet and let sit at room temperature until cooled and hardened. Store then in a airtight container.
TIPS:
- If your house is super hot rather place the cookies in the fridge to harden.
- Use unsweetened cacao powder
- You can use regular milk, almond or soy milk.
- Pro tip: Don’t forget to lick the pan and spatula since this is the best part of no bake cookies.
